Our Approach
Sustainable livelihoods will be achieved by mainstreaming social enterprise learning technologies, through the Victoria Mutual Building Society-British Council partnership, with a view to eventually having this new approach owned by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information in Jamaica and mainstreamed in schools from year 4 onwards.
The project seeks to specifically address the noted school to work transition gaps, supporting the youth to develop skills that motivate them to find entrepreneurial solutions to their concerns and act as agents of change, realizing the possibility of establishing social enterprises set up within the schools. It builds on the British Council model of Social Enterprise Education in Schools, using a core skills development approach and the British Council’s resource pack to bring social enterprise into the classroom.
